Our Terminal Redevelopment

Departures Hall 2025

We’re embarking on a multi-million-dollar transformation of our Departure Hall to make travelling through Launceston Airport more comfortable and convenient than ever.

Here's what’s coming:

  • Increased space for passengers to relax
  • Upgraded toilets and washrooms
  • Fast Wi-Fi & charging points
  • More seating to enjoy our spectacular views

Alongside this, exciting new dining options will be landing later this year, showcasing the best of Tassie's food and wine offerings. We’re pleased to welcome:

  • Gatty's Bar and Kitchen - named after Tasmanian aviation pioneer Harold Gatty - now open!
  • Kanamaluka café, from the Aboriginal word for Tamar River
  • Tasmania's own Liv Eat - now open!

We look forward to delivering a world-class departure experience.

To facilitate these upgrades, there will be some temporary changes that will impact passengers.

  • The downstairs bathrooms near the Departure Gates are currently closed for refurbishment. The nearest toilets and bathrooms are located upstairs in the Departure Hall.
  • Work is continuing on Gatty's Bar & Kitchen, and it is expected to open in July 2025. Alcohol can be purchased from Arthur's Cafe.
  • While the Launceston Store is being upgraded, browse the broad range of Tasmanian gifts, books, and snack items from the pop-up store in the Departures Hall.

We understand this may impact your journey and appreciate your patience as we work towards creating a great new travel experience.
