New food and beverage options set to land at Launceston Airport
Launceston Airport has awarded new retail, advertising and food and beverage tenders which will see the installation of a new all-day café, modern bar and dining venue along with an expanded Launceston Store.
Focusing on bringing a taste of Tassie to the airport, new food & beverage partner SSP will make healthy eating at the airport easy with the introduction of Liv Eat along with brand new café and bar outlets.
Existing retail operator LagadereAWPL will oversee an expansion of the much-loved Launceston Store, adding an additional 120m2 of floor space in which to showcase Tasmanian gifts and artisan products.
Further improving the traveller experience, new and upgraded high-impact digital and outdoor advertising assets will be deployed by Launceston Airport’s new media partner, Bishopp, throughout the terminal and the precinct.
Overseen by award winning architects, Cumulus, the Departures Hall at Launceston Airport will also be refreshed, with new lounges and seating to give passengers more areas to relax and enjoy the views.
Launceston Airport CEO Shane O’Hare said he was excited to showcase the best of Tassie food, wine, arts and culture at the airport.
“The award-winning design of our new Check-in Hall reflects the beauty of Northern Tasmania through architecture and now these new partnerships will ensure the rest of the airport celebrates the amazing food and culture of the region as well,” he said.
“We think we have the best views of any airport in the nation and these new venues will harness that to give our passengers one of the best airport dining experiences Australia has to offer.
“This has been the largest tender process in the airport’s history and positions us well for the future, as we look to serve more than 1.75 million passengers by 2030.
“I’d like to thank the team at Emirates who for eight years have raised the bar for regional airport F&B offers and will leave the airport in a better place.”
