On 3 April, we announced that we would waive all parking fees for passengers departing in April or May. We had extended that commitment for more than 2 extra months. Now as flights return to higher frequencies, parking fees will resume as of 11:59pm Thursday 6 August.

Car park charges will be reinstated on 7 August 2020. Charges will be in line with pre-COVID-19 pricing. Free parking ends at 11.59pm 6 August 2020.

Will I have to pay for parking if I entered the car park prior to the reinstatement of charges?

Those who started parking from 1 April 2020 to 7 August 2020 will not be required to pay for their car parking at Launceston Airport.

Anyone who enters on or after Friday 7 Aug 2020, will be charged for car park use in accordance with the published car parking charge rates. 

Will all of the car parks be available for use on 7 August 2020?

All Launceston Airport car parks (Saver, Short Term, Long Term and Undercover) will be available for use on 7 August 2020 to ensure a range of car parking options are available for airport users.

I have special circumstances that resulted in the requirement to park the car at the airport, what can I do?

For those people who have special circumstances please call the Launceston Airport switch on (03) 6391 6222 to discuss your circumstances. 

I have an annual car parking pass, which I haven’t been able to use during the pandemic, how will this affect me?

To ensure our annual car park members have not been disadvantaged during the free parking period, we have extended every currently valid pass for a period of 5 months.

I am an onsite staff member, will car park charges return for me too?

Car parking charges will return for all users of the airports car parks from 7 August. Staff can continue to use the short term car park at the standard staff parking rates until further notice.

Do I need to take a ticket for parking at the airport, or do you have contactless parking?

Launceston Airport has contactless parking facilities available. For those who would like to use contactless parking please following the directions provided on the signage at the entry and exit gate. You will need a credit or debit card for contactless parking. The same credit or debit card must be used on entry and exit.

Can I still use cash to pay for parking?

Due to COVID 19, Launceston Airport has reduced the amount of parking pay stations. Our preference is for contactless entry and exit into and out of car parks.

Credit card payment at the payment machines or exit gate is the next preferred option.

A parking payment station is provided at the front of the terminal for cash car parking payments.

Do I need to touch anything to enter the car park?

Launceston Airport provides contactless parking for all users. You need a credit or debit card to use this method of entry and exit. Tickets are still available to allow entry into the car parks and credit card payment is preferred.
