Commercial Transport Operators

From Monday 4 November 2025, access to the Commercial Lane at Launceston Airport will change. To make things easier and more efficient, we’re moving to a pay-as-you-go system using Licence Plate Recognition and our trusted partner, ZipBy.

What You Need to Do:

1. Register with ZipBy
   All Commercial Transport Operators must sign up with ZipBy to use the Commercial Lane. You can download the ZipBy app from your phone's app store, then create an account by providing your contact details. Or you can sign up through the website

   Next add at least one vehicle and a valid credit or debit card to your profile. Click here for instructions on how to sign up

2. Link Your Vehicle
   Once you're registered, add your vehicle’s licence plate number to your ZipBy account so it can be recognised for access and payment. If you have signed up as a company and you have multiple vehicles, please add all licence plates to your account. You will have to apply for a permit for each vehicle individually

3. Apply for Your Permit
   After signing up, submit your vehicle details here or by scanning the QR code below. We'll then email you the correct application link to complete your permit.

Please note: From the 4th of November only vehicles with a valid ZipBy Permit will be able to enter the Commercial Lane.

Got a current access card with credit?

No problem! If you still have credit after the transition, just visit Airport Reception (Level 1) with your card for a refund.
Refunds are available until 12 December 2025.

  • Small passenger vehicle (up to 9 seats including driver)

  • Medium passenger vehicle (10–16 seats)

  • Large passenger vehicle (17+ seats)

Apply early!

Applications are processed during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm), so we recommend registering early to ensure your permit is ready in time.
